On holiday till love arrives

Shit I haven’t told you anything since my holidays started!

Going right back before I left Invercargill, I went to the editor four times on my last night of work to protest over the guy who is taking over my job.

Every time the little bastard said he was busy.

So I left the building without a damn for the place — 3 1/2 weeks of freedom before I’d think about it again.

~

Friday I called into work again to find M and C had been engaged for three hours. I think she’s pregnant.

~

Christchurch next night — Wolseley Lodge.

There was an interesting-looking guy there. Strange place though. People just stalk round all the time and you read their faces for hours but never learn anything about them.

Anyway thence to Nelson and it was really so beautifully quiet and peaceful with hot summer sunshine.

First night, I walked into a friend, Colin, who was on holiday there.

Talked a bit but left him hurriedly cos I was with Dad and I was scared he’d refer to some of those nights in Dunedin.

Every day I was on the beach in the hot, hot sun.

Then yesterday I flew into Wellington on an impromptu visit to my cousin J.

J was there to meet me. Now that she’s away from home she never wears a bra, just rounded breasts — which have grown since I last saw her — flopping under a frock or jersey.

Had to carry my 40lb suitcase to the railway station from N.A.C., and man was that hard.

Some of J’s paintings are brilliant, as good as any I’ve seen in galleries. Her designs for Mosgiel are incredible — they’re knitted garments for Winter 1973.

J is so happy when B is around, she never stops smiling and looking at him.

Here’s an excerpt from a beautiful book I’m into:

You haven’t met your love yet.  But she is waiting for you somewhere, and already your souls are in love and happy together.

As soon as you meet her you will both know that. It’s what we call falling in love but it’s just two souls that were destined to be together, recognising each other.

My own thoughts written before me.

Though sometimes I wonder if Graham was in fact the person and I wrecked it.

Whatever, there’s no hurry and I have much to learn before it happens.

What was I saying about old stumble buddies finding their way here after having gone to ground?

I don’t usually say *hugz* but HUGZ all round!

This is like a reunion

See other evidence of a gathering of the clans below, but first a word from Lucy:

megellen:

Luce:  Wait!  You didn’t post a picture of my skirt!

Me:  Ah, you mean the skirt you are too damn sexy for?

Luce:  Yeah!  That one!

Thumbing . . . our noses back at SU

You know … what I’m really enjoying about Tumblr is that our SU friends are using it in conjunction with SU — blogging enthusiastically here, or even just “decorating” at this stage, but using SU alongside simply for its chat and page-swapping facilities.

SU had limited scope for personal expression and variety — and never even claimed to be a blogging tool.
We might have thought we were adding value by using it that way, but it’s clear from the changes and the responses in feedback in recent weeks that THEY didn’t.

I think this is a good outcome for all, then — they get to stop supporting us and we move to a network better suited to our purposes, with fewer constraints.

Plus, we get to thumb our noses back at them.

How did you find me?!

Three people signed up, three people who maybe went looking for me — because I hadn’t said a thing to the internet about being here.

You just found me, and that makes me feel very warm and fuzzy.

Anne, Angus and Stumbot, girls and boys: Great to see you back and I hope to get going on here around the weekend.

Unfortunately I am laid up with a sinus infection at the moment, brought on I suppose by moving house, which required going through a lot of “stuff”, and raising a lot of dust.

Media_httpfarm3static_hlkdx

And now here we are at the bottom of another  learning curve but with some idea of a future.

I have been getting some coaching in CSS too so I can stay ahead of you (some of you).

So … CSS assignments, anyone? (LOL, he added jauntily). We know who’d top that class — someone who used to ask for easier questions at the old school but was actually WAY ahead of the game.

Anyone wants to get in touch: I have my own gmail too now.

See you soon!

I like your planet

Cheers from Earth!

Media_http4mediatumbl_iqzah

One of the delights of interacting in Tumblr has been finding old friends pop in — people I’d lost track of.

I should have known Ilikeyourplanet was watching from a distance though.

He had the advantage of a very large perspective and probably an ability to see the future of SU (just a lot of number-crunching that fails to engage) … so naturally when he returned to Earth he chose to engage with US!

Ditto Stumbot, pretty much. Infinitely bored with SU and breathing again on Tumblr!
