Is God trying to boil us alive?

I’ll come back to that.

First a progress report

THE FOLLOWING ARE IN HAND:

~ Pickett questions and postings

~ A pile of found photos and half-written postings to be moulded into something worth putting here or there or at the new place or maybe better suited for this or that

~ Alien hand syndrome — an investigation

~ A yak with the old Pickett crowd who’ve been drifting back, and some interesting newcomers I’d like to get to know better

In the meantime, thanks for your comments, which are much appreciated.

I’ve got so many enthusiasms coming at me from Llbwwb, Melancohol and Etcetera etc that I feel excited to be alive! And we will show the world yet that Tumblr isn’t just skating across the surface of things. There are hidden depths indeed, and that’s where some of us like to swim. Less flashy dashy dashboard stuff, more consulting with our own gods and heroes, and daily battles in Lynn’s case.

Conditions here in Sydney are more suited for blobbing than blogging at the moment. We are in what I hope are the last throes of our hottest summer yet and some nights that means you’ve gotta just lie spread-eagled on your bed or whatever you do while waiting for the next cool change to come through.

When I was young and living in Darwin, which is notoriously humid, my lifestyle — when out of the aircon hotel I worked in — consisted of drinking in bars, blobbing on my bed and getting under water as often as possible.

Darwin is in the tropics and MEANT to be that hot. Sydney is not! It’s a long way south of the Tropic of Capricorn yet somehow seems to have moved to northern Queensland.
