Gritty history
Each blog entry at AmericanUrbex explores a building that was once important enough to be shown in postcards. All are now boarded up. The locations are shown on Google Maps and some history is explored, with photos of course, and links.

"Vanvos" (Giammario someone; no name supplied) is at this address and is or was in Florence, Italy, which he has photographed extensively. Then there are other well-known cities -- those I've featured were taken in Paris, London and Paris.

That’s one of the reasons people either love or hate my old home town, Wellington New Zealand.
The other factor that separates the lovers from the blow-ins is the wind, which can dominate the city like a wounded beast.
He gives you Wellington, as scruffy and deshabille as it is, and whenever I look up his page to see what he’s been up to I think … “aah yes, home”.
